At A.C.K. Academy, we view the SHSAT as a high standard benchmark for high school math readiness. For any student entering high school, preparing for the SHSAT provides a clear metric of their mastery of foundational math concepts and, more importantly, their ability to apply them to complex problems.
Our program is designed to meet students where they are, using the test as a framework for deep learning:
For 6th & 7th Graders: We focus on building a foundation in all SHSAT Math topics, creating the runway for long-term success and ensuring they are truly prepared for an advanced high school curriculum. See SHSAT Math Study Topics, 'The Foundations' below.
For 8th & 9th Graders: We offer an intensive prep course designed to leverage existing knowledge, focusing on advanced problem-solving and the strategic thinking needed to excel on the test and in future STEM coursework. The SHSAT exam allows you to develop the mental muscles to work through problems that are clearly defined and accessible to learn, if you want to.
