"Who can enroll in A.C.K. Academy?"
We work with students from 3rd through 8th grade (typically starting around ages 8-9), but welcome younger students with engaged parental support.
The program involves navigating Google Classroom and attending video calls via Google Meet with mentors. Parents can assist with these technical aspects until their child is ready to manage them independently.
What truly matters is:
Your commitment to supporting the learning journey
Helping maintain consistent participation
Providing assistance with technology as needed

"What are SMART Worksheets"
Beautifully printed and personalized, SMART Worksheets adapt to your child's unique learning journey and are mailed to your home weekly.
Our unique learning system turns daily practice into measurable metrics. Here’s how our system works:
Our method is designed to be as elegant as it is effective. We bridge the gap between substantive, hands-on learning and sophisticated technology, creating a cycle of genuine progress. Here’s how it works:
1. Analog Beginning: It all starts with the materials. Forget the featherlight, bright-white worksheets churned out by the hundred—easily torn, quickly lost, and never meant to last. Your child will work on 24 lb. cotton paper in a warm ivory, a tactile experience designed to invite focus and show that their work is valued.
2. Technology Bridge: This is where the page comes to life. Alongside their answer, your child rates their confidence on a scale, a crucial bit of insight into their state of mind. Once the worksheet is complete, you simply scan the unique QR code that captures everything (the work, the ratings, all of it) and sends it to our servers. Your part is done in seconds.
3. Human Insight: Learning thrives on connection. We do more than just mark answers with a circle or an 'X'; we provide personalized, constructive feedback written directly to your child. Instead of a cold, heartless correction, we offer notes that clarify a mistake or praise a clever solution. The goal is to make your child feel seen and understood in their efforts while getting them comfortable with real constructive feedback.
4. The Result: With deep insights, our learning system strategically designs the following week’s SMART Worksheets. Using science backed principles like spaced repetition, it reintroduces concepts just before the student forgets. The result isn't just completed homework; it's a framework for building mastery.

"Is A.C.K. Academy online or in-person?"
A.C.K. Academy is designed around a deliberate weekly cycle that combines the best of both worlds. Your child develops deep focus by doing math the classic way: with pencil and paper on our SMART Worksheets that are mailed to your home. This ensures true, screen-free practice.
Then, once a week, they meet with their personal mentor via Google Meets to review that very work—discussing challenges, celebrating breakthroughs, and getting expert guidance. This structure provides the hands-on learning essential for mastery, paired with the convenience and flexibility of virtual mentorship.
"What role do parents play in their child's success at A.C.K. Academy?"
Parents are essential in their child's learning success. Your primary role is to create a supportive learning environment at home and champion your child's progress. We handle the printing and planning, so you can focus on what matters most.
Your role includes:
Encouraging Daily Practice: Ensuring your child spends about 30 minutes on their worksheet each day (Monday-Thursday).
Assisting with Submission: Helping your child use a smartphone to scan the worksheet's QR code, which instantly sends their work to our graders.
Connecting on "Feedback Friday": This is your most important moment. You'll sit with your child to review the personalized, constructive notes from our mentors, celebrate their progress, and reinforce their learning.
By actively participating in these key moments, you're not just passively supporting their learning journey; you're actively building the foundation for their future success.
"How is this better than a regular tutor?"
Tutors focus on homework, test prep and related tasks, but at A.C.K. Academy, we use mathematics as a tool to teach kids how to learn. Through a personalized curriculum, daily practice, and regular feedback, we guide your child to master concepts at their own pace.
"Can't they just learn this in school?"
Schools don't have the resources to meet each child's unique needs or teach essential learning skills. We guide students to become independent learners.
